SPCP Live Part 2: Paul Cornell
Wednesday Jul 23, 2014
Wednesday Jul 23, 2014
Welcome one and all to another slice of the ginormous podcast pie that was Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour: Live!
This episode sees us through 1pm-2pm, featuring the absolute darling that is Paul Cornell. As well as talking about Paul's work on Wolverine (why must it come to an end?!) and his progress with the third in his 3-novel series, we also cover such topics as Agents of SHIELD and why Stacey should watch it, how writing is like knitting, how many toys your kid isn't allowed to play with is too many toys your kid isn't allowed to play with, fear of clowns and much more besides!
So nab a cupcake and an iced tea (it's too hot for a proper brew!) and enjoy this second installment of the live Parlour show!

End Theme - 'Let Go For Tonight' by Foxes
Apologies for the phone intereference noise at points during this show; what with us checking the donation page and getting tons of wonderfully encouraging Tweets and messages, it was bound to happen ocassionally! Still, sorry for the noise and if I ever do this again (probably won't :P), I'll learn to keep my phone a little farther away.

SPCP Live Part 1: Moose Kid Madness!
Wednesday Jul 16, 2014
Wednesday Jul 16, 2014
Welcome to the very start of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour Episode 30; the 24hr Live Charity Episode!
I would like to offer my sincere apologies to the guests for the slightly glitchy sound quality on this; it seems the recorder didn't like being used at the same time as the live broadcast Mixlr feed, and so it's a little skippy in parts. I will try to download the whole 24hr file from Mixlr in order to try to get the best quality stuff for the rest of the guests, however as you can imagine that file is HUGE so it may take me a while! In the meantime, I hope you can stand the glitchiness to check out what the following fine fellows had to say!
This installment takes you from 9:30am-11:30am, and features the delightful Andrew Waugh, Tom Plant and Dan Gaynor, all of whom have strips featured in the wonderful new digital comic, Moose Kid Comics!
Andrew is a Scottish (but not that Scottish) illustrator, cartoonist and teacher of art. He's had his stuff in a TON of places, including Hive, Ink+Paper and more, yet for some reason we talk to him about the size of a dog's nuts... Tom doesn't fair much better, recalling a poo-on-the-train story rather than talking to us about his work in The Beano and The Dandy, for Pete's sake! Dan (with special guest, his lovely Mrs, Fiona) brings the tone back up a notch or two with talk of pancakes, TMNT and his lovely comic Crunchwood.
I hope you all enjoy this first part of the epic podcasting weekender that was SPCP Live!

Hi there, ladies and gents; welcome to Episode 27 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Joining Stacey in The Parlour this month is her good friend and fellow nerd; Paul Richardson!
Stacey and Paul get their teeth into a heck of a lot of stuff this episode, including reviews of MULP: Sceptre of the Sun, Indestructable Hulk, Broad City, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and much more!
Of course, they espouse their opinions on Captain America: Winter Soldier, but Stacey's insanely huge love of the Ninja Turtles distracts them from finishing their thoughts on that one! Now, in case you're some sort of crazy person and don't know who these wonderful people are; John-Paul Bove is the writer for Panini UK's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic, and the colourist on many, many comics, most notably IDW's Transformers and Jamie is the bonkers mind that created such wonders as Chaffy, Looshkin, Ubu Bubu, Space Raoul and much more! The lads join Stacey (separately, of course; Stacey's technological prowess is not quite prowess-y enough for multiple guests at once!) to talk about all sorts of things, such as conventions and social awkwardness, fishcakes, spoilers, working, colouring, keeping secrets and...spoon shankings?!
So sit back, grab a slice of cheesecake and enjoy this extra-long super-fun episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour!

We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! That's right, it's Christmastime, and what better way to celebrate than with a nice scrummy portion of tasty podcast goodness?
This episode of The Parlour sees Stacey joined by returning guest and person-still-willing-to-share-a-hotel-room-with-Stacey; Jenni Newman! The ladies recall their experiences at Thought Bubble Comic Con in Leeds last month, chatting about their nerves approaching the Gods and Goddesses of Comicdom, their purchases, sharing a hotel room, and the highlights of the con. Also contains a somewhat spoilery review of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special (can you say HELL YEAH?!) and a lot of gushing about Jamie Smart's Kochi Wanaba hardback.
Stacey and Jenni also get all festive up in here, naming their Top 3 Christmas Films! So grab a nice hot chocolate (or a mulled wine, if you're feeling properly festive), a wedge of Christmas pud (or, if like Stacey you hate the fruits involved in a Christmas pud, a slice of Yule log) and enjoy this latest installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour!

PS. Hello, Stacey here to say 2 things;
1. Once again I have to apologise for some technical issues; I actually did quite well editing out the zillion-and-one times one of us lost audio entirely and we had to drop the call, but there are still some weird things going on. Occasionally it skips bits of our sentences, and we lose sound on Jenni once or twice, and I apologise. I reckon it's Skynet trying to sabotage me...
2. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thank you to all those who choose to spend their spare time listening to me and my buddies ramble about the things we do/read/see/listen to; I am very thankful for every single listener, and I hope you all have a fun, safe, happy, pressie-filled Christmas, and all the best for the New Year! Have fun and be merry, y'all!!
