Episode 45: Trash Boat Meltdown

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this months' installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Making a triumphant return to The Parlour and promising to be nicer to Stacey than when he was last on is the lovely-jubbly cartoonist and podcaster, Luke Foster!

The pair talk about an inordinate amount of pop culture-y goodness; expect spoilers for Spectre and most episodes of Rick and Morty, plus some less spoilery chat about Supergirl, The Vision #1, Steven Universe, Art Ops #1, Adventure Time and a ton more besides. All this, plus Stacey tries to tackle to tough topic of comedy on difficult subjects whilst being super-tired and therefore fails miserably! (Basically, she's trying to say that she thinks pretty much nothing should be off limits comedy and jokes-wise, but you absolutely have the right to not find it funny).

Stacey regales Luke with some tales of her adventures at Thought Bubble Comic Con, Luke puts Stacey on his enemies list, and the pair absolutely lose their minds over Regular Show.

Podcast In A Half Shell - Episode 8: It's Pickled Cabbage...

Major league butt-kicking is back in town (again) as Duncan and I make an attempt to review 2009's feature length 25th anniversary special, Turtles Forever! As it turns out, I'm much more precious about the 80's TMNT than I thought, Duncan is much more precious about the 2003 series than he thought, and we both suck at voice acting... On top of all this, we weigh up the pros and cons of sauerkraut on pizza, get distracted by unnecessary Shredder crotch shots, and go on tangents galore due to being drunk on cheese... We also chat briefly about IDW's Mighty Mutanimals and Casey & April mini-series'. Enjoy!

Warning: I drop a HUMUNGOUS SPOILER for the season finale of Nickelodeon's TMNT for no real reason... Sorry!

Episode 44: I Said 'Pianist'!

Huzzah, it's that time of the month again (no, not that one!); it's new Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour time! Joining Stacey in the room of never-ending (imaginary) cakes is no stranger to podcasting, the Trash Compactor's own Oliver Thomas!

Expect absolutely WHOPPING SPOILERS for the Rick and Morty S2 finale (and other Rick and Morty episodes), the season opener of The Walking Dead and Doctor Who, marginal spoilers for Your Lie In April, Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers and School Live, and chats about Jughead #1, Virgil,  keeping out of people's personal space, Dark Souls 3 and tons more.

On top of this, Stacey forgets the word 'Cumworld' (how could you forget that?!), Oliver gets so excited he can't breathe any more, and the pair go on a bit of a tangent about orchestral music. Also, Stacey has wind. Sorry.

BONUS: Comic Racks Episode 0

As it's International Podcast Day (someone get me a cake, STAT!), I thought I'd treat you all to this little gem/mess; Episode 0 of Comic Racks!

What's Comic Racks, you say? Well, it was only my first foray into the world of podcast co-hostery, along with my good friend and fellow nerdy bird, Iz. Originally airing waaaaaay back on 25th October 2007 on the Geek Syndicate feed, this episode was a huge ramblefest in which we basically tested the waters of podcasting, so don't be expecting any level of professionalism, or structure. We were both relatively new to the nerdy scene at the time, so also don't expect us to know what the heck is going on at all!

Episode 43: A Sentient Fart Would Do A Better Job

Weeeeeeeeeeeehoooooooooooooo, it's Episode 43 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! As a birthday treat to herself, Stacey has not one but two brilliant guests for you this episode; the triumphant returns of Taylor Esposito and Lee Grice!

Keeping their fingers firmly on the pulse of modern pop culture, the three discuss Taylor's first experience of The X-Files as Lee gets nervous about re-watching Andromeda Strain. Stacey tries to review Turbo Kid without spoiling it (which is really, really difficult), and conversation turns to cartoons and how flipping great they are. All this, plus Lee reviews Cauliflower Field, Taylor can't talk about anything he's read because none of it is out yet, and Stacey discovers fanfiction...

Podcast In A Half Shell - Episode 7: An Egg Timer With A Lamp Underneath... On A Stick!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to Podcast In A Half Shell - The Anniversary Edition! That's right, it's been a year since Episode 1 came out, and so of course we decided to celebrate the only way we know how; with booze!

This time around, I get completely over-excited by having met Kevin Eastman, Lief Tilden, Michelan Sisti and Nick Palma, Duncan shares some thoughts on a few TMNT video games, and we both try to wrap our slightly tipsy minds around the absolute madness that is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III (aka Turtles in Time). Having only just watched the movie before recording, you'd think we'd actually remember what happened... On top of struggling to figure out what the actual point of the movie was, we discuss how much of a tit April is, wonder why Mikey is backwards on a horse, and dribble over 90's Elias Koteas... Also, there's a rogue Christopher Walken impression!

Episode 42: Bogged Down In Cybertronian Politics

Oh, well hello there! Welcome to the 42nd installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour; the podcast that always promises cake and rarely delivers! Joining Stacey in The Parlour (read: her kitchen) this month is none other than the man that introduced Stacey to comics, her husband and fellow nerd, Rich!

Somehow, the pair discuss an absolute TON of stuff in what is possibly the shortest episode of The Parlour to date, including their thoughts on Image Comics' The Beauty, MTV's Scream series, Marvel's Ant-Man and loads more. Also included in this episode is a genuine please for help regarding The Walking Dead (with an open letter from Stacey to Robert Kirkman), Rich's rant on Secret Wars and DC's new non-continuity madness, and the pairs reaction to the first two episodes of Documentary Now. All this plus Fant4stic, Wet Hot American Summer, and Stacey yet again losing her mind over the sheer awesomeness that is Rick and Morty.

Ladies and gents, welcome to this, the 41st episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Joining Stacey in her cake-filled parlour this month is her lovely buddy, comics doodler and custom figure-maker extraordinaire, Joe Ward! 

During this jam-packed episode, Stacey and Joe talk about lots of news from SDCC, including the big trailers (Suicide Squad, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and Deadpool), new characters due to appear in the Nickelodeon TMNT series, toy announcements and more. All this, plus Stacey still can't shut up about how great Mad Max Fury Road is (and neither can Joe), they give their thoughts on summer blockbuster Jurassic World, Joe talks about Terminator Genisys, and the pair get exasperated at all the Lady Ghostbusters news...

Podcast In A Half Shell - Episode 6: Put A Technodrome In It

Welcome to the sixth installment of Podcast In A Half Shell; the bi-monthly podcast on all things TMNT! This episode Duncan and I tackle our feelings on 2007's CGI 'TMNT' movie, with topics ranging from Laurence Fishburne's smooth silky voice to whether you can really hone your leadership skills when alone, the logistics of dangling from weirdly positioned bo staffs to deleted scenes that shouldn't have been deleted and a fair bit of non-TMNT related stuff! (We were a bit ramble-y, sorry!) All this, plus we discuss voice actors, bizarre character fight match ups (seriously, April is just NOT beating Karai in any universe!), and tons more!

Laaaaaaaaadies aaaaaaaaaaand gentlemeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnnnn, welcome to Episode 40 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour; your monthly ramble fest on all things nerdy. Making his triumphant return to The Parlour is comics writer, doodler, colourerererer and letterer extraordinaire and all-round ruddy lovely man, John-Paul Bove!

John-Paul stops by the Parlour to talk about his shiny new comics project, the one-shot story 'UnEarth' written, coloured and letterd by him with art from the equally delightful Conor Boyle. John-Paul shares his experiences in terms of writing (and writers' anxiety), the self publishing process, promoting yourself at conventions (and scaring a lot of people in the process) and much more! The pair also dive into their thoughts on Avengers: Age of Ultron, Stacey loses her mind over Rick and Morty, and John-Paul pitches a movie to Marvel. All this, plus lots of orchestra talk, an invocation of Lisa Stansfield and a ton of cute, cute animals...
