Episode 52: Bestosterone

Hellllloooooo! Welcome to Episode 52 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! This month Stacey is joined by her good buddy and fellow topic-digresser, Sam Harrison!

Sam brings absoulte chaos to the show in the form of a soundboard and a cat, which promptly causes Stacey to lose her mind and any semblence of podcast hosting skill... Once on track, the pair talk at length about The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow and DC's Legends of Tomorrow (expect spoilers) and the horrendous wigs contained within. As well as this, Sam tries to push Invincible onto everyone like it's some kind of comic-crack, and Stacey gets pretty depressed by Grave of the Fireflies... All this, plus plenty Teen Wolf, Action Comics, The Nice Guys, Anaconda and lots of laughs!

Cor, look, a lovely jubbly bonus episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! 'What's this all about then?' I hear you ask, and I will tell you; I got the opportunity to speak to someone who created something that has been a HUGE part of my life. The TMNT have been there for basically my whole nerd life, and I love them to bits, so imagine my insane excitement and sheer terror at bagging an interview with none other than Kevin Eastman!

Listen in as I make some feeble attempts at appearing cool, calm and collected, whilst Kevin is very convincingly funny, brilliant and interesting! We talk about pizza flavoured beer, work-life balance, why it is that writers seem to love trying to kill of Donatello and more!

Welcome one and all to Episode 51 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Joining Stacey in The Parlour for a spot of booze and chinwagging is her good friend, telly extra and music making guy, Neil Morris!

Neil and Stacey seem to suffer from tangent-itis this episode, as their chats on Captain America: Civil War, Jungle Book and Bad Neighbours 2 somehow end up being about asking stupid questions, not fitting TV audition briefs even though you clearly do and accidentally poking your eye til it sparkles...

After having run out of films to talk about, Duncan and I have turned to the 90's Image comic run for this episode of Podcast In A Half Shell! Hear what we think about the 'extreme' nature of the stories, Raph's facial disfigurement, Donnie's death (again), being a Level 7 ninja, scantily clad lady ninjas, whether athleticism and large boobs can coexist and much more!

All this, plus I watch an episode of Next Mutation and instantly regret it.

Ladies, gents and everything in between, welcome to Episode 49 of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour; the podcast best served with tea and cake! (Except there's no cake...Someone bring cake!!) Joining Stacey in The Parlour this month is comics colourist and creator and all-around cracking chap, Kris Carter!

Kris and Stacey discuss some of Kris' comic work, including Transformers (and how Stacey suffers from the rare condition of Transformers Blindness (i.e. the inability to tell most robots apart)), Doctor Who (and Kris' love/hate relationship with pinstripes) and the soon-to-be-Kickstarted Bruce Outback!
