Episode 7 - Stacey Taylor and the Attack of The Killer Spiders
Friday Aug 31, 2012
Friday Aug 31, 2012
Welcome to the latest installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour, in which Stacey is joined by fellow podcaster and all-round fun guy; Matt Farr of Dissecting Worlds! As a warning to those who haven't yet seen The Dark Knight Rises (why the chuff not?!); this episode contains a good half hour of reviewing on this, with a few tangents thrown in for good measure, containing some mild and some pretty whopping spoilage. Listen at your own peril! On top of all the Batman fun, Stacey and Matt have a good old chinwag about other nerd-tastic films, such as The Hunger Games, the Avengers and X-Men First Class, as well as a bunch of comics and TV chat too! Expect ruminations on Fables, Atomic Robo, Once Upon A Time, Doctor Who, Punk Rock Jesus and much more! PLEASE NOTE: There's a fair bit of spider talk, and Stacey takes no responsibility for potentially blowing out your eardrums when attacked by an evil arachnid during recording... Enjoy! Episode Theme - 'Ziggy Stardust' by David Bowie End Theme - 'Ladybug' by The Presidents of the United States of America

Episode 6 - League of Extraordinary Nerd Birds
Saturday Jul 28, 2012
Saturday Jul 28, 2012
Welocme to the sixth episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! This month Stacey is joined by the rather lovely Jenni Newman, fellow nerd bird and podcasting first-timer. She makes it a good one by reviewing lots of DC and indie comics (and costumes), discussing scary movies (and strategic mirror relocationing after watching Candyman) and generally being highly entertaining. Stace won't be upstaged though, and goes for a rant and a half on League of Extraordinary Gentleman Century 2009, gets over-excited by Adventure Time and has a bit of a fangirl drool all over Andrew Garfield... WARNING: This episode contains some severe spoilers for Century 2009, most of the Walking Dead series (including very minor spoilage of issue #100) and probably a few too many usages of the C-Bomb... Enjoy! If you'd like to be on a future episode of The Parlour, just drop me an email at staceysparlour@gmail.com or come say hi on Twitter @StacebobT. Episode Theme - 'I Have The Power' by Noam Kaniel & Erika Scheimer End Theme - 'Bust A Move' by Young MC

Thursday Jun 28, 2012
Welcome to another fine episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! This month Stacey is joined by David Wynne, doodler of Particle Fiction and Hypergirl, and they discuss practically everything under the nerdy sun! Including spoiler-tastic reviews of Hardcore #1, 2001: Space Oddyssey, Image's Extreme Comics and Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy Radio Show Live as well as speculation on The Dark Knight Rises. The pair also wonder about sex scenes in TV shows and films... Put this in your earholes and enjoy! Episode Theme - 'Go' by Pearl Jam End Theme - 'Marvin' by Marvin the Paranoid Android

Episode 4 - 2 Avengers Fans Assembling
Thursday May 31, 2012
Thursday May 31, 2012
This month Stacey is joined in the cake-filled Pop Culture Parlour by the absolutely splendid geek-bird extraordinaire Laura from the Geektress podcast. For a hefty portion of this episode the girls get spoilery about the Avengers movie, discussing the all-round awesomeness, brilliant humour and plentiful totty found within! After finally getting off the Avengers topic, the ladies talk about their favourite comics, including Winter Soldier, Li'l Depressed Boy and more, as well as checking out some of the second wave of DC New 52 titles. (As I forgot to actually do this part in the episode; please do contact me at staceysparlour@gmail.com if you'd like to comment on the show or offer to join me on it. Alternatively, you can follow my inane ramblings on Twitter; I'm StacebobT there.) Hope y'all enjoy! Episode Theme - 'We Are Sex Bob-Omb' by Sex Bob-Omb Ending Theme - 'Outside' by Childish Gambino

Episode 3 - Man Crush

Welcome one and all to the third episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour. This month Stacey is joined by the rather wonderful Nick of the Monkey on my Back podcast, and cor blimey, can they talk! In an episode which would run away with the award for Most Tangent-Filled Episode of Anything EVER (if such an award existed), Stacey and Nick discuss Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Awake, Being Human S4, The Futureheads, Princeless, X-Men: First Class and a whole host of other things besides! So do yourself a favour and put this here podcast right in your ears! Episode Theme - 'Snowball in Hell' by They Might Be Giants Ending Theme - 'Beeswing' by The Futureheads

Episode 2 - Two Muppets Rambling
Thursday Mar 22, 2012
Thursday Mar 22, 2012
Welcome back to the Parlour! This month, Stacey is joined by the rather jolly spiffing Dion Winton-Polak of the Scrolls podcast for a quick cuppa and a chat. They ramble about The Muppets (an awful bloody lot, too), the new(ish) IDW Turtles series, the return of The Twelve, their choice of Netflix gems and a whole host of other things besides. Talk about tangents! If you're overly sensitive, you might want to skip the little bit in the middle where the talk turns to Batman porn... So steal some of Dion's apple crumble and custard and enjoy this latest installment! (As an aside, I'd like to apologise for the quality of the sound in spots and the glitchiness in certain places. This episode was a beast to edit because random things kept ocurring. I tried to erase as much of the terrible stuff as possible (including my incessant sniffing and Dion's coughing fits!) but had to keep some in to keep the conversations flowing. I've now got my sister's PC so hopefully the next episode won't be so full of mess!) Episode Theme: "Am I A Muppet Or A Man?" from The Muppets soundtrack End Theme: "Sexy And I Know It" - LMFAO

Episode 1 - A Right Pair of Tits
Sunday Feb 19, 2012
Sunday Feb 19, 2012
Welcome to the very first episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour; the podcast for reviews on comics, TV, film, books and music; best served with tea and cake. This month Stacey is joined in The Parlour by Bevis Musson, creator of delightful little comic nuggets such as Finland Finland Finland and Dead Queen Detectives, as well as the artist of several pictures gracing Stacey's living room wall. During the show, Bevis and Stacey talk about the DC universe reboot and which titles they're enjoying, not-so-much enjoying, and have already stopped getting. Expect plenty of spoilers for all sorts of titles, as well as Being Human S4, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead and... America's Next Top Model?... Also featured is the Forty-Five spin off comic BlueSpear *cough*BUYITNOW*cough* and many a mention of boobs! So grab a slice of your favourite cake, pop the kettle on and enjoy this, the first installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Episode theme: (rather aptly) 'Tits on the Radio' - Scissor Sisters
