Episode 23 - Pink Lady Pledge!!
Saturday Dec 21, 2013
Saturday Dec 21, 2013
We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! That's right, it's Christmastime, and what better way to celebrate than with a nice scrummy portion of tasty podcast goodness?
This episode of The Parlour sees Stacey joined by returning guest and person-still-willing-to-share-a-hotel-room-with-Stacey; Jenni Newman! The ladies recall their experiences at Thought Bubble Comic Con in Leeds last month, chatting about their nerves approaching the Gods and Goddesses of Comicdom, their purchases, sharing a hotel room, and the highlights of the con. Also contains a somewhat spoilery review of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special (can you say HELL YEAH?!) and a lot of gushing about Jamie Smart's Kochi Wanaba hardback.
Stacey and Jenni also get all festive up in here, naming their Top 3 Christmas Films! So grab a nice hot chocolate (or a mulled wine, if you're feeling properly festive), a wedge of Christmas pud (or, if like Stacey you hate the fruits involved in a Christmas pud, a slice of Yule log) and enjoy this latest installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour!
Episode Theme - 'Cool Yule' by Bette Midler
End Theme - 'Sleigh Ride' by She & Him
PS. Hello, Stacey here to say 2 things;
1. Once again I have to apologise for some technical issues; I actually did quite well editing out the zillion-and-one times one of us lost audio entirely and we had to drop the call, but there are still some weird things going on. Occasionally it skips bits of our sentences, and we lose sound on Jenni once or twice, and I apologise. I reckon it's Skynet trying to sabotage me...
2. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thank you to all those who choose to spend their spare time listening to me and my buddies ramble about the things we do/read/see/listen to; I am very thankful for every single listener, and I hope you all have a fun, safe, happy, pressie-filled Christmas, and all the best for the New Year! Have fun and be merry, y'all!!

Welcome to Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour, where tea, cakes and rambling go hand in hand for an hour or so for your audio enjoyment. Joining Stacey in the cyber-parlour this episode is the utterly dreamy Stevie Disme from Comic Book Queers! Be prepared for a lot of man-oggling, guys...
As well as a ton of dribbling-over-comic-hotties, you can also expect talk on Nickelodeon's first series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pacific Rim, Trillium #1, The Wolverine, appropriate behaviour at comic cons and much much more!
So please, grab a mini Battenburg and enjoy this latest installment!
Episode Theme - 'All The Lovers' by Scissor Sisters
End Theme - 'I Could Have Been Your Girl' by She & Him
These little apology footnotes are getting to be a bit too frequent... Ahem, guys, I would like to extend my humblest apologies for the following;
1. To Stevie himself, for fudging up the time difference between his bit of the US and my bit of the UK, causing him to be hanging about waiting for me for far too long; you're a star for waiting for me!
2. To all you lovely listeners for the technical issues at the start of the episode; there's some skipping/crackling, then a whole chunk missing; I lack technical prowess and couldn't fix it, sorry :(
3. And finally, not so much an apology as an admission; like a div I kept referring to this episode as episode 18, when it is clearly 19. I blame Stevie for distracting me with his luscious dulcet tones!
Whilst I have you here, myself and some lady-buddies are doing a 10k Memory Walk for Alzheimer's Society in September; please go to www.justgiving.com/stacebobandfriends and give anything you can. It's a great cause, and incredibly appreciated.

Episode 18 - Job Done
Wednesday Jul 24, 2013
Wednesday Jul 24, 2013
Well hello there, lovely listeners! Welcome to the 18th installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour. In the parlour this month, sippin' on red wine and rumainating on all things pop culture is Geek Syndicate's very own Barry 'Nugecake' Nugent! Join the pair as they discuss Pacific Rim (never fear; Barry hasn't seen it so no spoilers here), Image comics 5 Ghosts and Ghosted, the Deadpool video game, the potential DC movies (bear in mind this was recorded before the SDCC announcements) and much, much more! So grab a nice summery cocktail (Bahama Mamas never go amiss), find a nice bit of shade and enjoy Episode 18 of The Parlour! Episode Theme - 'Get Loki' by The Avengers End Theme - 'You've Got The Look' by The Lonely Island feat. Hugh Jackman and Kristen Wiig Apologies all; it seems my technical prowess died a death yet again this episode, and so it sounds somewhat like I spent most of this episode underwater. I can only assume that I set up the fancy new mic wrong and somehow ended up recording with the in-built mic in Lappy. *sigh* I am so useless. Profound apologies to all; bear with me, eventually I'll get it!!

Episode 17 - But I Digress...
Tuesday Jun 25, 2013
Tuesday Jun 25, 2013
Come one, come all and join Stacey in another exciting installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Listen in as both Stacey and Steve struggle to stay on topic and the conversation meanders around video games and consoles*, Doctor Who, Man of Steel and much, much more! Expect spoilers for basically everything, but in particular Man of Steel, which Stacey spoils the bejeezus out of in order to simultaneously rant and gush with excitement. It's a long 'un, but a good 'un! Enjoy! Episode Theme - 'Animal Arithmetic' by Jonsi End Theme - 'No One Likes Superman Anymore' by I Fight Dragons *It is worth noting that this was recorded just a day before Microsoft announced all the changes to the XBox One to make it less ridiculous, so expect a little mockery towards Microsoft that can now be disregarded, innit.

Luke joins Stacey just weeks before swanning off on an adventure around America, so expect an almost tangible sense of envy wafting around this episode... As well as discussing Luke's impending exciting adventures, the pair also ruminate on whether S4 of Community is actually any good, whether Guardians of the Galaxy is worth investigating prior to the film release, why Stacey is scared of Doctor Who re-starting, and why her sister shouldn't call her first-born son Freddie... All this, plus reviews of Babble, Oz The Great and Powerful, Peter Panzerfaust and much much more! Hope y'all dig! Episode Theme - 'It's Getting Boring By The Sea' by Blood Red Shoes End Theme - 'I'm Your Boogie Man' by KC & The Sunshine Band PS.
