SPCP 3 Epilogue: A Mini Meltdown
Friday Jun 22, 2018
Friday Jun 22, 2018
Parlour favourite and jolly good bloke Lee Grice joins me to chat a bit about the technological nightmare that was SPCP Live 3. We candidly discuss anxiety, paranoia & low self esteem as well as reflecting on the great things about the show.
Enjoy!

This is it folks, the grand finale! Sadly, due to a miscommunication, Erik Burnham wasn't available on the day, so for the first half of this episode you're treated to some incredibly tired riffing from Barry and myself..! After a donation check in and some Greatest Showman talk, we kick off our second Stace & Barry In The Morning for the day, with some more choice movie & TV picks, and some early morning Moments of Geek.
For the final hour, we're joined by the absolutely delightful Jennie Gyllblad! She brings a much needed burst of energy as we round off the 24hrs the way we started it; learning how to pronounce our guests surnames. There's also lots of comics and conventions talk, Barry and Jennie get real about dealing with leaks, and I am cross about Wrestlemania. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: The SPCP Live 3 episodes will be mostly unedited. This means they will be put out as close to their live versions as possible, including (but not limited to); audio delays and the resultant accidentally-talking-over-each-other, bodily function noises (aka the World's Loudest Sneezes), slightly-too-long sections in which we try to deal with the mountain of technical problems on the day... I believe they are still very enjoyable though, and I hope you have as much fun listening in as Barry & I did when broadcasting!

SPCP Live 3 Part 11: Everybody's Wife Loves Donald Glover
Sunday Jun 03, 2018
Sunday Jun 03, 2018
In our penultimate episode, Dave Dwonch pops by to talk about his zillions of projects, having heart surgery, Star Wars and whiskey! We also briefly touch on Infinity War (again without spoiling; we're getting good at that!)
Chaos reigns supreme as Brandon & Travis of Interdimensional RSS: The Unofficial Rick & Morty Podcast join us for tons of Rick and Morty related shenanigans. We chat about our favourite episodes and quotes, I recount my slightly embarrassing meet and greet with Keith David, and we introduce Barry to Justin Roiland's Hilarity For Charity animated sketch...!

SPCP Live 3 Part 10: A Quizzy Good Time
Friday Jun 01, 2018
Friday Jun 01, 2018
It's 3am, so what better time for a quiz? It's Stace vs Barry as Social Media Mike becomes Quizmaster Mike; play along at home and see if you can beat our scores!
After that pure bonkersness, Basem from the Turtle Power Pod joins us to..show us his nipples on more than one occasion?! Ahem, we also chat about our heart conditions and the importance of supporting charities like The BHF, as well as taking a look at all the iterations of the TMNT so far and what we like and don't like about them. Also, we miss Cranny, and I threaten to get my hairy legs out... Enjoy!

SPCP Live 3 Part 9: The Toilet Roll Situation
Wednesday May 30, 2018
Wednesday May 30, 2018
It's all gone a bit wonky this episode; we're joined firstly by Fantasticast's Steve Lacey for some chat about Superman Returns, how to perfectly time a cinema toilet trip and we all try to figure out what the song I only know the first line to is. We also play a short game of Where In The World Is Steve Lacey? and continue to not spoil Infinity War.
After that, Parlour regular Lee Grice appears and the technological poop hits the fan! After a brief not-broadcast panic, we get into chatting about comics, how you deal with dislking stuff your friends have created, how trailers are supposed to work, remakes and reboots and more! Oh my!

I'd like to extend an apology to Steve, Lee and the listeners; again we have the issue of guests answering questions before we've actually finished asking them, meaning there's more talking over one another and extended gaps. I'm really sorry; I have no idea what happened or why, and there's no way for me to fix it. This is also the episode where we broadcast about 5 minutes of silence (which I have replaced with a short burst of Spanish Flea) as my microphone died and we had to replace it. Sorry!

SPCP Live 3 Part 8: Past-Midnight Sexy
Monday May 28, 2018
Monday May 28, 2018
As we inch ever closer to the end Barry and I start suffering from voice huskiness from chatting for so long, but that's not going to stop us! We call in absolute gem Sarah Millman to chat with us about her comic work, how retail work nightmares can be writing gold, video games and more! There's a brief interlude in which I admit I can't really handle time differences and Barry & I chat about SPCP Live and The British Heart Foundation, before Sarah rejoins us for more Disney chat. Also, Rich returns, and he's quite drunk!
We're then joined by the amazing David Sobolov; voice actor and all-round brilliant dude. We chat about his acting and voice acting career (and the role that almost ended it), the importance of kindness, 'Vin Ethanol' and loads more!
Please note that the competition in the episode is now closed.

I'd like to extend an apology to Sarah, David and the listeners; something went awry in this segment so it seems that guests are answering questions before we've actually finished asking them, meaning there's more talking over one another and extended gaps. I'm really sorry; I have no idea what happened or why, and there's no way for me to fix it. I still think it's worth a listen though, as Sarah & David are fabulous!

SPCP Live 3 Part 7: Mango Noel Fielding Tears
Saturday May 26, 2018
Saturday May 26, 2018
I'm running out of fun ways to say "Here's a new episode of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour: Live!" so just have at it; first up in this episode is the rather jolly brilliant Bevis Musson! We talk about how Dead Queen Detectives was actually intended to be a terrible pitch but turned out to be a great idea, parenting (and why I'm not cut out for it), Star Wars, Tomb Raider, and more!
After that, fellow Improper Books lovelies and top notch folk, Christian & Laura Wildgoose appear, all banana-ed up and ready for action! As well as discussing the idea behind Improper Books and some of Christian and Laura's work there, we also share our mutual fear of driving, and Laura offers tips on how to survive in New York when it's so darn overwhelming...
Enjoy!

SPCP Live3 Part 6: Unpopular Spider-Man Opinions
Thursday May 24, 2018
Thursday May 24, 2018
Cor blimey, it's a triple bill of awesomeness this episode! First up it's movie buff & podcaster, Emma Platt, who gets somewhat irate about cinema etiquette..! Emma & I introduce Barry to the absolute WTF-ness of Mac and Me, and we all speculate about which movies we're going to enjoy later this year.
Following Emma is top notch comic book lady, Isabell Struble*! As I've interviewed Isabell on a previous episode, we immediately take a turn into 80s soundtrack heaven (brace yourselves guys, there's singing again!) and I set Barry & Isabell some very important movie watching homework.
And last but by no means least, Friend of The Parlour and video game expert, Sam Harrison! We chat about VR (and my slightly idiotic fear of it), the best games Sam's playing right now, and disappointing finales...
*This episode was recorded prior to Isabell's transition and therefore uses her previous name and pronouns, however has been posted with her permission.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COMPETITION IN THIS EPISODE IS NOW CLOSED.

SPCP Live 3 Part 5: Mind That Jigsaw
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Tuesday May 22, 2018
Hey hey folks, welcome to another slice of SPCP Live shenanigans! First up is podcasting juggernaut Luke Moore (of The Football Ramble, The Luke & Pete Show and On The Continent fame), who joins us to chat about podcasting and his favourite TV shows right now, as well as challenging us to name our favourite SPCP Live guest so far! (Eeeeeevil!) I regale Luke & Barry with a tale of a ludicrous family dinner and Barry shares his feelings on moths. Moths can DO ONE.
After that, we have the absolutely splendiferous Townsend Coleman joining us for a spot of chat about acting, voice acting, how he became TMNT's Michelangelo and the impact of his work. Barry & I tried to stay cool but you try not dissolving into a fan-mess when The Tick starts chatting to you! It's just not possible! SPOOOOOOOON!
